As a board member of Genovation, Sandy brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her role, offering a powerful and compassionate voice in guiding the organisation’s mission.

With over 20 years of experience in education, Sandy has worked across mainstream schools, support units, Schools for Specific Purposes, and within the private disability sector. This has given her a broad and deep understanding of the diverse needs of children and young people, particularly those with behavioural and cognitive differences.

Sandy is also the parent of a neurodivergent teenage daughter. This personal journey has given her firsthand insight into the challenges and triumphs families experience navigating the disability and education systems. Her passion for supporting and strengthening the wellbeing of the entire family unit stems directly from this lived experience and informs everything she does—professionally and personally.

In addition to her teaching background, Sandy has held leadership roles, including as Head of Services for a Plan Management provider. In this role, she developed strong applied knowledge of NDIS plan implementation, across varied service delivery models, and honed her advocacy skills within the NDIS, provider, and education systems.

Sandy holds a Bachelor of Health Science (PDHPE), a Bachelor of Teaching, and a Graduate Certificate in Specialist Inclusive Education. She is currently completing a Graduate Certificate in Positive Behaviour Support, further expanding her capacity to contribute meaningfully to Genovation’s strategic direction and values-driven goals. Sandy is currently taking on the role of a NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner.
