Genovation began with us—Jake and Giuliana—a husband and wife, parents, and long-time professionals in the disability sector. Like many families, our journey took an unexpected and life-changing turn when our daughter, Gabriella, was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition and multiple complex needs at just 16 months old.
Jake brings decades of leadership experience in the community services, aged and disability sectors, including managing respite services, group homes, and in-home supports. His passion for empowering people with disabilities stems from both his career and his personal journey as Gabriella’s dad. As CEO, Jake is dedicated to ensuring Genovation remains financially sustainable, mission-driven, and values-aligned—always with integrity and accountability.
Giuliana has spent over 20 years across nursing, health, and education. As the founder and director of an NDIS-registered organisation, and now in the not-for-profit space, she brings a deep understanding of policy, care, and community needs. Her work with local and federal government bodies reflects her commitment to advocacy and social change. Her drive is personal too—shaped every day by the love and learning that come with raising a child with complex disabilities.
Despite our combined experience of over 50 years across disability, health, education, and advocacy, nothing could fully prepare us for the emotional and practical realities of navigating the system as parents. We quickly saw what so many families feel: gaps in services that were too often clinical, disconnected, or not built for the real lives behind the paperwork.
That experience became our turning point. We didn’t just want better services—we wanted a better future. One filled with possibility, dignity, and genuine connection. A future where individuals like Gabriella, and so many others, are seen, heard, and supported to thrive—not just survive.
That vision became Genovation.
As a not-for-profit disability support provider, Genovation was built from lived experience, compassion, and an unwavering belief in inclusion and human potential. We focus on supporting individuals with disabilities to build independence, purpose, and meaningful community connections. Our approach is holistic, human, and heartfelt—because we’ve lived the challenges, and we’re committed to changing the story.
Importantly, we are not alone. Many of the dedicated professionals within Genovation also bring their own lived or family experience with disability. This shared understanding is the heartbeat of our organisation—fostering a culture that is empathetic, responsive, and truly person-centred.
At Genovation, we’re not just building services—we’re reshaping support systems through lived wisdom, professional excellence, and a shared belief that everyone deserves the chance to live a life of meaning, connection, and joy.
We’re here for families like ours. And we’re here for you.
