We work with Box Divvy to create an experience that is really worthwhile.
What is Box Divvy?
Box Divvy is a company that provides fresh fruit and vegetables to customers.
Our participants help pack the boxes in their community, specifically Spring Farm. Then, the customers pick them up.
We started off with about 10 participants, and now we're up to around 30 enrolled.
How Does It Work?
Box Divvy has linked up with local farmers and merchants to source produce, and they need hubsters in the suburbs to divide and distribute the items to customers. We’re one of those hubsters.
The way it works is simple - Customers go on the app every Monday to Wednesday.
The online shopping cart is open during that time. Orders are then submitted by Wednesday evenings.
Once orders are placed, on Friday morning the truck delivers all the produce to us.
Our Young Adults, supported by our carers, pack everything into boxes for the customers, and they come to pick them up. We also deliver!
From Fresh Fruit to Fun Times
Our Box Divvy initiative is more than just fresh produce — it is a program with a purpose. When you support our service, you’re also supporting the people in our Young Adult Enrichment Program to enjoy fun experiences and outings!
Any profit we make goes directly back into the program. This helps fund meaningful and enjoyable activities for our participants, such as bowling, morning tea outings, and trips to the movies. It also contributes to our weekly hydrotherapy sessions and weekly shopping items for our Thursday cooking!
Thanks to this support, families don’t need to contribute extra money for these activities. It’s a win-win: you get quality produce, and our participants get to enjoy experiences that bring joy, confidence, and connection!
